Off skiing this season? Are you ready?

November 12, 2013

Another winter, another ski season!

Skiing is hugely popular among us Brits and every winter we head to the slopes of Europe in our thousands for a week or more of (almost) guaranteed snow!

Interestingly though, it is one of the few outdoor pursuits that people generally don’t prepare for physically.

If you were heading off for a trekking holiday or a week long football or rugby tournament you would train before hand, making sure you were physically fit and strong for the task, wouldn’t you?

But after a week or more of very low activity levels over Xmas, many of us set off for a week of skiing, without so much as a press up.

As a result a large number of people sustain injuries and struggle with a pure lack of fitness, sometimes only halfway through the holiday!
It’s often only a once a year trip, so you want to make the most if it.

TRAIN FOR YOUR BEST SEASON YET!

Why not reduce your risk of injury and get yourself fitter and stronger for the coming season? You’ll ski better, for longer and as a result enjoy your hard earned holiday that much more.

Using specific exercises directly linked to skiing we can get your body ready, and strengthen the key muscle groups – legs, core and shoulders – by replicating the movement patterns you use on the slopes. We’ll also address your flexibility, as this is a big part of successful skiing too, and should you be carrying any extra weight, we’ll also help you shed some pounds before your trip.

4-6 weeks of training with us twice weekly is enough time to make considerable progress.
Contact us today and arrange a free consultation to learn more about how you can start and what will be involved.

The slopes are waiting for you, make sure you’re ready.
